Darrel "Darry" Curtis Jr. (oldest brother)  Darry is 20 years old and would be a Social if it wasn't for his brothers.

Sodapop "Soda"  Curtis (other brother) Soda is 16 going on 17, and is idolized by Pony.

Apperence: Ponyboy is described to have reddish- brown hair that is long in the front and short in the back. He keeps his hair greased back. He has greenish-gray eyes but wishes they were more gray because he says "I hate most guys with green eyes..."

Personality:

Ponyboy gets good grades because of his brother Darry (he is very smart, he skipped a grade in school) , Likes to read, watch movies, and look at sunsets. Is on the quiet side which is probally why he gets along with Johnny so well.

Friends or gang member:

Johnny Cade: A quiet boy who is 16 but that looks 14, is Ponyboy's best friend and the gangs pet because he was jumped and beaten half to death by 5 "Socs". (Is a "Greaser")

Dallas "Dally" Winston: Is Johnny's idol and is "A bad boy" and is part of the gang, he is 17 years old. (Is a "Greaser")

Keith "Two-Bit" Matthews: Is the jokester of the gang is described to always have to get his "Two-bit" in, he is 18 and 1/2 but still a junior in high school. (Is a "Greaser")

Steve Randle : Is Soda's best friend, he dislikes Ponyboy because he thinks of him as a tag along , he is 17 years old. (Is a "Greaser")

Darry: Is part of the gang and Ponyboy's oldest brother. (Would be a "Socs" if it were not for his brothers and the gang.)

Soda: Is also part of the gang and his best friend is Steve Randle. (Is a "Greaser")

Sherri "Cherry" Valance: A girl "Soc" who helps bring peace between the "Socs" and "Greasers". Cherry's age is never said but most likely 16 or 17. 

Marcia: Cherry's friend who meets Ponyboy at the movies and has fun with Two-Bit. Most likely the same age as Cherry. (Is a "Soc")

Enemies:

Robert "Bob" Sheldon: Tries to hurt Ponyboy, he is Cherry's boyfriend. (Is a die hard "Socs")

Randy Adderson: Is Bobs best friend tries to hurt Ponyboy also but later regrets it and tries like Cherry to create peace between the Social classes. Also he is Marcia's boyfriend.( Is a "Soc" but at the end does not want to be labled either a "Soc" or a "Greaser".)
